Naksan Beach is a representative beach of Yangyang and of the eastern coast. Since its opening in 1963, it has continued to be visited by a great number of people every summer. The wide 4-kilometer-long beach is backed by a dense pine tree forest. The water has an averate depth of just 1.5 meters, making it perfect for beginner swimmers and young children. Naksanhang Port and Naksansa Temple are located at one end of the beach, while a small lagoon formed by Namdaecheon Stream can be found at the other end. The beach is also an attractive tourist destination due to the prestigious temple and historic sites nearby. There are cafes, restaurants, and accommodations in the vicinity, making the beach a popular vacation spot. The beach welcomes crowds of visitors every year on New Year's Eve due to its reputation as a place to view the magnificent sunrise.
