Borisu Jasu Guesthouse is a traditional “hanok” guesthouse located near the Jeonjucheon Stream at Jeonju Hanok Village. Entering the courtyard that leads to the wildflower gardens brings people to the historical elegance of the “hanok” as if they had just stepped out of a time machine. The owner transformed a century-old house into a fine guesthouse, taking good care to maintain iconic features like exposed rafters and roof decorations faithfully. Although the exterior of the “hanok” captivates visitors with its elegance, the interior is where the house truly shines as it showcases the owner’s mastery of embroidery. As seen from the beautiful curtains and muslin beddings to small interior decorations, the embroidery (jasu) in this guesthouse truly helps brighten up the rooms. One can even visit the owner’s atelier for more examples. Moreover, there are six Korean-style rooms in total that are suitable for two to three guests. There are also compact single-occupancy rooms for solo travelers, and all rooms are equipped with modern restrooms and toiletries. The shared “hanok” living room offers the best view of the garden, with stocky tables, books, and tables filling the space with a distinct easygoing atmosphere. The rooftop terrace, with its view over the Jeonju Hanok Village, is also a popular site. Furthermore, the guesthouse offers toast, fruit, eggs, and coffee in the morning for free, and guests can also sign up for French embroidery sessions or folk games.
