Chuncheon Makguksu & Dakgalbi Festival celebrates dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) and makguksu (buckwheat noodles), two of the most famous specialties of the city of Chuncheon. The festival was newly launched in 2008 by combining the two existing festivals into one. During the festival period, the entire festival grounds are covered in booths selling buckwheat noodles and spicy stir-fried chicken. The festival includes cooking competitions, donation programs, and performances ranging from celebrity openers to regional groups and singing competitions.
